I made Colorado my home in 2000 when I moved from Reno to Boulder for graduate school. Lafayette became my community in 2006 when my wife, Danielle, and I bought our first home as newlyweds. We started a family in 2011 and feel so fortunate to raise our daughter in Lafayette. I am excited to use my skills and experience to help Lafayette continue to be a great place to live.

Adam's Educational and Professional Experience
Engineer, Scientist, Attorney
My education started in Science and Engineering. I earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from CU before later enrolling in law school at CU to pursue a career as an Intellectual Property Attorney.
After 11 years working at a law firm, I switched gears to become the Head of Legal at Ten-Nine Technologies, a battery materials start-up company working on innovative and sustainable battery additives that improve the performance of many different types of batteries. In this role, I help my company navigate and negotiate many legal challenges and issues that a small business faces, including real estate and lease contracts, tax issues, human resources and remote work policies, security and IT policies, local and federal regulations, funding and corporate governance issues, sales and supply agreements, and more, while also helping to protect the scientific innovations and new technologies the company develops.
I am especially proud of the pro bono legal services I've provided to the Colorado community over the course of my career, including helping Dreamers navigate the DACA Program, helping families adopt their young relatives in the Kinship Adoption Program, and helping Colorado Non-Profits keep their legal affairs in order through participation in the Colorado Lawyer's Committee Non-Profit Legal Audit Clinic.
Adam's Volunteer Work in Lafayette
In 2015, I started volunteering with the City of Lafayette, initially as a member of the Waste Reduction Advisory Committee (WRAC), then as the chair of WRAC. I helped spearhead the introduction of compost stations at Art Night Out as the WRAC chair. Since 2023, I have served as a member of the Sustainability and Resilience Advisory Board (SRAB).
You may have seen me at the waste stations at the Peach Festival, Oatmeal Festival, and Art Night Out - these days wearing my signature green Nintendo Luigi hat. I volunteer at every Art Night Out event that I can and enjoy supporting the Arts community in Lafayette and helping folks sort their waste while listening to music, visiting with friends, and appreciating our amazing downtown.
I have also been involved with development of several of the City's different plans over the years, including:
I am currently serving on the City's Land Use Code Working Group, which is helping update the City's current zoning code in order to align it with a modern community vision for Lafayette and the 2021 Comprehensive Plan.
In addition to my volunteer work with the City, I am also a member of the board of directors of Kaleidoscope, a local non-profit focused on expanding the arts in Lafayette and providing working studio space for artists in Old Town Lafayette, as well as the locally run Kaleidoscope community radio station.
